Sherlock Nobanners - Mac OS 10.0 through 10.1

You can either use the perl program listed here or make the modifications yourself. If you use the package, you must login as root first.
To make the change yourself, download the SherlockDefault.src file and put it in both your user prefs folder in /Users/YOUR_USERNAME/Library/Preferences/Sherlock Prefs/ and in /Applications/Sherlock.app/Contents/Resources/. You have to do this for every user on the system, so you should probably login as root first. All users created after you replace the "master copy" in the Sherlock.app package will have nobanners.

How does it work?
The file that enables banners in Sherlock is actually a simple XML file that contains code for retrieving the banner from Apple's servers. They couldn't have made it any easier! Use this file at your own risk. I am not responsible for the consequences. This file is free and may be distributed on all media for non-profit use only. For-profit users should contact the author.
